James Brierton

SmithtownRadio.com's General Manager, News Anchor and DJ James Brierton
James Brierton co-founded what is now SmithtownRadio.com in 2003. Brierton’s QuickNews Media Group now manages the station. In addition, Brierton serves as the station’s General Manager and oversees all station operations.
Brierton is an active contributor to CNN’s iReport program, in which he interned for in 2008. He remains active with the CNN community.
His radio career includes two years producing online news coverage for Long Island’s WALK Radio, where he also worked as a promotion’s assistant.
In 2009, Brierton relocated to Athens, Georgia where he began to study journalism at the University of Georgia. He currently serves as the Operations Manager for WUOG Radio.
In 2008, Brierton was awarded the News 12 Long Island Hank Logeman High School Journalism Award for excellence and achievement by a high school journalism student. In addition to co-founding SmithtownRadio.com, Brierton also served as the editor-in-chief and Web master of his high school newspaper.
Brierton can be heard from the anchor desk during major news events, Sunday mornings on SmithtownRadio.com and each day from 6-9 pm.
