Police: Motorcyclist read-ended vehicle in West Babylon

West Babylon, NY (SmithtownRadio.co) – A Commack man has died after a motorcycle crash in West Babylon Saturday morning.

At 10:50 a.m., Jorge Alberto Marquez Arguete was riding his 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle when his bike collided with the rear of a 2009 Honda Accord,which was stopped in traffic on westbound Sunrise Highway, Suffolk police say.

The driver of the Accord, Julio Batista, 55, of Coram, was not injured. Arguete, 32, of Commack Road, Commack, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
