Smithtown, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – After more than a year, Sertinos Cafe’s Smithtown location is closing its doors this weekend, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
It’s sad but true, after giving it a go for 14 months, the Smithtown location is closing it’s doors for good next Sunday, October 28th at 5pm. The community has been great and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your support and patronage. Unfortunately though, we just didn’t have enough volume and we never made any money. We tried to make things work and many of you helped us by spreading the word and we will never forget! Best wishes to all our loyal customers!
The restaurant, a first on Long Island for the sandwich-oriented chain, took over the main street building in August of 2011. The location had previously been a Sizzler.
The owner of Sertinos Cafe, Craig Lownethal, tells Smithtown Patch the restaurant could stay open if he can find someone to partner with him in the business. Two customers have already expressed interest, according to the report.
