Truck, car collide on Vanderbilt Motor Parkway

Commack, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – A Commack man has died after his vehicle was struck by a truck on Vanderbilt Motor Parkway in Commack Tuesday morning.
Just before 9:30 a.m., Abraham Sparber was attempting to turn left out of a shopping center when his 2010 Hyundai was struck by a westbound traveling 2003 box truck, Suffolk police say. Sparber, 90, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip after being removed from his car by emergency responders. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The driver of the truck, Patrick Williams, 46, of Deer Park, was not injured.
Suffolk police have not charged anyone in the crash.
