Video: Search dog found man missing since Monday


A WABC video introduces you to the Suffolk police canine and officers who found a missing man in Smithtown Thursday

Smithtown, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – A man missing in Caleb Smith State Park in Smithtown since Monday has been found alive and hospitalized for treatment.

A Suffolk County police canine found Dr. Jerome Nadler in the park Thursday around 12:15 p.m. Nadler, 76, of East Setauket, was last seen Monday when he went into the park to go fishing.

Nadler was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center for treatment of severe dehydration and longterm exposure to the elements. Nadler is believed to have been in the park Wednesday when heavy thunderstorms rolled through the area.

New York State Police, Suffolk County police, and area fire departments responded to the park Thursday.
