Shirley, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk County Police have arrested an East Moriches man for possession of a “large quantity of child pornography,” police say.

Detectives from the Computer Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a East Moriches home where they seized computers, hard drives, CDs and DVDs.  The computers and storage media, which belonged to a resident Damien O’Brien, contained a large quantity of child pornography, police say.

O’Brien, who is unemployed, turned himself in at the Seventh Precinct located at 1491 William Floyd Parkway, Shirley.  He was arrested at 7:57 p.m. and charged with one count of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child.

O’Brien will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday, August 23.
