Midday trains resume with construction complete

Ronkonkoma, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Full service has been restored to the Long Island Rail Road’s Ronkonkoma Line following the competition of a three month track construction project.
Since July 23, buses have been transporting customers between 9 AM and 3 PM while the track work was carried out as part of a scheduled maintenance program. The work is expected to “help ensure greater service reliability and smoother, more comfortable ride for customers,” an MTA news release says. Train service will resumes for the Farmingdale, Wyandanch, Deer Park, Brentwood, Central Islip and Ronkonkoma.

The six eastbound trains returning to regular service are those departing Penn Station for Ronkonkoma at 8:14 AM, 9:14 AM, 10:14 AM, 11:14 AM, 12:14 PM and 1:14 PM. The six westbound trains returning to regular service are those departing Ronkonkoma for New York at 9:41 AM, 10:41 AM, 11:41 AM, 12:41 PM, 1:41 PM and 2:41 PM.
