Cops: Motorcycle collided with vehicle in Ronkonkoma

Ronkonkoma, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Ronkonkoma Monday evening.

Just before 6 p.m., Anthony LaTorre, 23, was riding a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle southbound on Pond Road when his motorcycle collided with a 2003 Toyota Camry in the intersection with Express Drive North, police say.

The driver of the vehicle, Annie Vitta, 57, of Holbrook, was taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. LaTorre, of Lake Grove, was also taken to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 6:25 p.m.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
