Kings Park Notebook: Expansion of hike and bike trail postponed

Kings Park, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – The Town of Smithtown is still awaiting final paperwork from New York State to begin the process of expanding the Kings Park Hike and Bike trail, KingsParkNotebook.com reports.

The trail, which currently runs on Kings Park Psych Center grounds along Old Dock Road, would be expanded to start at the municpal parking lot on Route 25A.

Town of Smithtown Director of Planning Frank DeRubeis tells Notebook he is awaiting final paperwork from the state, which owns the land, before receiving bids from companies to build the 950-foot expansion.
