A spectacular crash in Brentwood last night sent a man, a pregnant woman and a toddler to the hospital. Authorities say they were traveling in a sudan at a high rate of speed along the Long Island Expressway service road when the driver lost control of the vehicle near Motor Parkway. The vehicle struck the an upper wall of a shop before landing upside down next to the building. The three occupants were taken to the hospital. Their identities and their conditions not yet known.

A week from today, Nesconset’s own Maria Michta will marching through Olympic Stadium in London. The 26-year-old racewalker is hoping her parents Rich and Sue can be there too but only if they can gather enough money for a plane ticket. The Sachem High School grad has posted a donation link on her Web site, which we have up on our site.
