Nothing remained except two, burnt shells of a car yesterday after downed wires ignited two vehicles in Nesconset. A wind gusts knocked down the LIPA lines on Lillian Drive around 5 o’clock. No one was injured.

The Nesconset Fire Department also responded to a house fire on on Fourth Street that started after a lightning strike outside the home. No one was injured in that incident either.
===
Yesterday marked the second time this week crews battled lightning-related fires. A fire in Commack is believed to have started after a thunderstorm rolled across the area Sunday.
===
Yesterday’s crazy weather was the result of a cold front, which has now passed through the area.
===
Cooler temps in your forecast today. Clouds and a high of 86 this afternoon. Slight shower with clouds tonight down to 69. We won’t make it out of the 70s on Friday.
