Second time this week fire department battling fires after storms
Smithtown, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – For the second time since Sunday, a line of strong-to-severe thunderstorms has knocked out power and sparked fires across the greater-Smithtown area.
In this latest round of storms, the Nesconset Fire Department got the brunt of the activity: first a house fire call at 7 Fourth Street before recieving a call two cars had burst into flames outside 45 Lillian Drive.
SmithtownRadio.com’s Mike Pedersen reports live wires appeared to have been knocked down during the storm and landed in the vicinity of the cars. Only burnt cells remain of the vehicles, which were parked in the street.
