Power remains out to nearly 250 LIPA customers in Commack following yesterday’s heavy storms. The strong-to-severe thunderstorms knocked out power at one point to nearly a thousand residents and flooded area roadways.

As a result of storm run-off and the possibility of high-levels of dangerous bacteria in the water, Suffolk health officials have issued advisories for five North Shore beaches. Swimming is not banned but swimmers are advised of the danger. We have the list of effected beaches on SmithtownRadio.com.

No more storms in your forecast but it’s a scorcher today with a high of 92. Mostly sunny skies this afternoon. We’re down to 71 tonight with clear skies before returning to the lower 90s tomorrow. We’re in the 90s through Thursday.
