The MLB All-Star game was far from a competitive affair as the National League All-Stars demolish their American League counterparts 8-0. The National League went up early scoring five runs in the first and four in the third inning. Pablo Sandoval hit a three run triple to put the A.L. in a deep hole be they even got to the plate. Former Yankee and Current-Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera was named the game’s MVP after going 2-3 at the plate and hitting a two-run homer in the fourth.

With the conclusion of the Midsummer Classic comes the only day of the year without an MLB, NFL, NHL, and NBA event.

Meanwhile the Nets effort to acquire Dwight Howard has taken a hit after the Cleveland Cavaliers pulled out of the trade talks because of their refusal to acquire Kris Humphries on multi-year deal in a sign-trade agreement. However, there chances at bringing Dwight to Brooklyn may not be over completely. The Charlotte Bobcats may be willing to help the Nets and Magic facilitate the trade and sign Humpries to a multi-year deal.
