Vehicles collided on Landing Ave at Oakdale Drive

Smithtown, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – A motorcyclist ejected from his bike during a Monday morning motor vehicle crash in Smithtown has succumbed to his injuries.

At 8:05 a.m., Francis Stanuch was riding a 2012 Honda motorcycle northbound on Landing Avenue when he collided with a 1990 Ford, which was making a left turn onto Oakside Drive across his lane of traffic. Stanuch, 40, of Smithtown, was ejected from his motorcycle during the crash.

Stanuch was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where he was pronounced dead.

Suffolk police have not announced any chargers against the driver of the Ford, Eric Gismervik.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
