TV legend Andy Griffith died yesterday morning at his home in Dare County, North Carolina. He was 86 years old. Griffith made his film debut back in 1957 in Elia Kazan’s A Face in the Crowd. He was best known as Sheriff Andy Taylor on his self-titled comedy The Andy Griffith Show. He was also famous for his title role in the mystery series Matlock. A cause of death was not given.
After news broke that Philip Seymour Hoffman was offered the role of Plutarch Heavensbee in The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Jena Malone is in talks to play Johanna Mason, a tribute from District 7 who won the Hunger Games before. Malone is most famous for her roles in Saved! and Sucker Punch. She was most recently seen in the miniseries Hatfields & McCoys.
Evening Edition:
Fox has confirmed to E! Online that every single Glee cast member from season three will be returning to season four. However, it is still unclear in what capacity each actor will be returning. Ryan Murphy, creator of the show, has said that he had invited everybody to come back for season four. Not only will the students be back, but so will the teachers. Also, Deadline reported that Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam, is in talks to become a series regular. Overstreet joined Glee in season 2 but left at the end of the season. Then, he came back to the show midway through season 3.
In a surprising turn of events, HBO announced that it is giving Eastbound & Down a fourth season. Though it appeared as though the third season was its last, the comedy starring Danny McBride has been given an eight-episode season 4. This ends speculation that the show was close to being over. Last season’s finale drew in 1.6 million viewers.
