Sugarland lead singer Jennifer Nettles announced yesterday that she and her husband, Justin Miller, are expecting their first child together. The 37-year-old country singer tweeted her thanks saying, “Thanks for all the love and well wishes from fans, friends and radio friends and industry friends! Y’all are the best and so supportive! Love!” The baby is due later in the fall around the couple’s first wedding anniversary. Nettles and Miller were married last November in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains. You can currently catch Nettles as one of the mentors on ABC’s Duets.
Revenge star Ashley Madekwe, who plays the aptly named Ashley on the show, married her boyfriend, actor Iddo Goldberg over the weekend. The couple was married in the English countryside on Sunday. Guests included fellow castmate Christa Allen, who plays Charlotte, David Schwimmer and Mischa Barton. The pair has been together for five years since they met as costars on the Showtime series Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
Evening Edition:
The Critics Choice Awards were held in Los Angeles last night, and Showtime’s Homeland won big, winning Best Drama and Best Actress in a Drama for Claire Danes. Also winning twice was AMC’s Breaking Bad, which won Best Actor in a Drama for Bryan Cranston and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for Giancarlo Esposito. In a bit of an upset, NBC’s Community took home the award for Best Comedy Series. Other winners include the Dunphys, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen, for Best Supporting Actor and Actress in a Comedy for Modern Family, Louis C.K. of Louie for Best Actor in a Comedy Series, and a tie between Amy Poehler and Zooey Deschanel for Best Actress in a Comedy Series.
Celebrity Apprentice winner Arsenio Hall returning to television to host a new late-night talk show. The unnamed show will debut in the fall of 2013 and will run every day during the week, Monday-Friday. Hall signed a deal for the show to be syndicated with CBS Television Distribution. John Nogawski, the president of the distribution company, said in a statement, “We’re excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show.” To show his excitement, Aresenio tweeted to fellow Celebrity Apprentice finalist Clay Aiken, “I am happier than a mouse running around the Kraft cheese factory.”
