Coram, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that killed a Port Jefferson Station man Friday morning.

Michelle Gass was driving a 2012 Ford northbound on North Ocean Avenue when she struck a 2011 Nissan at the intersection of Old Town Road in Coram at 5:44 a.m., police say. The Nissan, operated by Hector Marmol, was traveling eastbound on Old Town Road when the crash occurred.

Gass, 22, of Coram; Marmol, 18, of Port Jefferson Station; and Marmol’s passenger, Ramon Genao, 37, of Port Jefferson Station; were all transported in serious condition to Stony Brook University Medical Center. Genao was pronounced dead a short time after arrival at the hospital.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks and the investigation is continuing.
