Huntington, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – A man trapped under his car in Huntington Thursday was rescued by four good Samaritans.

Jose Rios, 47, pulled over on Madison Street near Heckscher State Park when he heard his muffler making noises Rios lifted his 1993 Toyota Corolla with a jack and went underneath the car to inspect the problem. The car fell on Rios and he was unable to free himself. Rios yelled for help and four good Samaritans lifted the car off of Rios and pulled him to safety.

Two of the good Samaritans have been identified by police as Charles Schulz, 30, Huntington Station, and John Greenlaw, 37, of Huntington.

Rios, of Huntington, was transported to Huntington Hospital by Huntington Community First Aid Squad with non-life threatening injuries.
