Video: Ed Ehmann says the district did not use a breathalyzer at East prom
St. James, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – The superintendent of Smithtown schools says the district had no need to use a breathalyzer during the Smithtown High School East prom Saturday.
“My conversation with the principal [Monday] morning was that the prom was perfect,” Ed Ehmann tells SmithtownRadio.com. “There were no incidents of any kind. So I assume that it was not used.”
The prom was the first major school event since the district passed a new policy allowing them to breathalyze any student suspected of consuming alcohol before or during a school event.
