The funeral for Bee Gees singer, Robin Gibb, will take place in the U.K. next Friday on June 8th. The service will be private, only open to close family and friends. Gibb died on May 20 at the age of 62. The family has asked that instead of flowers, donations be made to Rebecca House and Wish Upon a Dream, two children’s charities on the Isle of Man. Gibb’s rep said that a public memorial service will be held sometime later this year and “full details will be announced in due course.”
Bones star Tamara Taylor has officially divorced from her lawyer husband, Miles Cooley. The actress, who stars as Dr. Cam Saroyan on the Fox series, finalized her divorce this week. Taylor had filed for divorce in February. The couple had been married for five years, tying the knot on a beach in Mexico. Taylor’s rep said the split couple remains amicable. They have no children. Bones will be back for an eighth season this fall.
Private Practice star Tim Daly learned from his agent yesterday that he will not be returning to the show. Daly has starred as Pete since the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff debuted, initially playing a love interest for Kate Walsh’s Addison before marrying Violet. Daly tweeted the news, saying “Wonderful fans of PP. Shonda informed my agent today that Pete won’t be returning for season 6. It was a great 5 yrs. R.I.P. Pete Wilder.” ABC has not officially announced how many episodes Private Practice will get this fall, and the network also hasn’t announced if any other series regulars will be departing.
The Hallmark Channel, known for their sappy and romantic movies, will launch its first scripted series next year. The network has set Cedar Cove, a book by Debbie Macomber, as a two-hour film that will serve as a backdoor pilot for the series. Andie MacDowell will star as a small-town family court judge in the flick, which will premiere later this year, with the series launching next year. MacDowell currently stars on ABC Family’s Jane By Design, which is wrapping production on the second half of its first season.
