Elton John was hospitalized on Wednesday after he developed a serious respiratory infection last weekend. After running tests, the doctors of the 65-year-old icon recommended that he not perform for one week and just rest and undergo antibiotic treatment. So, Sir Elton has canceled three performances scheduled for Thursday, Friday and Sunday in Las Vegas. Elton said in a statement, “It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at The Colosseum. I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled. All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace.”
Lindsay Lohan has finally landed a leading man in her Elizabeth Taylor biopic Liz & Dick. True Blood actor Grant Bowler will play Richard Burton on the Lifetime film. The movie chronicles Elizabeth’s fiery marriage with Burton. On True Blood, Bowler played hunky werewolf Cooter.
Evening Edition:
Joanna Garcia, who has previously starred on Reba and Privileged, has been chosen to replace Amy Huberman as the female lead on Animal Practice. NBC’s new fall comedy also stars Weeds’ Justin Kirk as Dr. George Coleman, a veterinarian who loves animals but usually hates their owners. Garcia will take over the role of Dorothy, George’s former girlfriend and current boss at the animal hospital. Huberman was let go for creative reasons.
Suits’ actress Vanessa Ray has been tapped to guest star in an upcoming episode of Pretty Little Liars. Ray will play Cece, a charming blonde who works as a stylist in a hip boutique. Cece is also Jason’s ex-girlfriend and former mentor to Alison. Ray has also appeared on hit shows White Collar, As The World Turns, Damages, and Girls. The third season of Pretty Little Liars will premiere on June 5th.
