Stony Brook, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad Detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who burglarized a local café in Stony Brook earlier this month.
In surveillance images released Tuesday morning, a man can be seen inside Jake Starr Cafe sometime between the hours of 11:00 PM on April 20th and 3:00 AM on April 21, 2012. The man kicked in the front door of the restaurant, located at 1007 North Country Road in Stony Brook, and entered the building, police say. Once inside, the suspect stole an empty Sharp brand cash register and an envelope containing approximately $1500.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
