Amityville, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) - Suffolk police etectives have arrested three man for scamming an Amityville woman.

Three men approached the victim as she was returning to her residence and they offered to seal her blacktop driveway, police say. One suspect began to clear the woman’s driveway with a leaf blower as another suspect convinced her to have her driveway sealed with two coats of sealer. The men told the woman if she paid in cash, she would receive a substantial discount.

The men followed the woman to the Roslyn Savings Bank on Merrick Road in Amityville where she withdrew $1200, police say. The men took the money from the victim and fled without doing any further work. The woman returned to her residence and called the Village of Amityville Police Department.

Police Officer Brian Smith of the Amityville Police Department located the suspects at Greene Avenue and John Street in Amityville and placed all three men under arrest at 4:10 p.m.

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives charged John Mitchell and Nicholas Mitchell, of West Babylon, and Allen Mitchell, of Bay Shore, with Grand Larceny 4th Degree, a Class E felony.

John Mitchell, 26, Nicholas Mitchell, 19, and Allen Mitchell, 17, are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday
