10-year-old singer, actor competing in “Got Talent? Long Island”

Kings Park, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – She has already sung the national anthem at the U.S. Tennis Open and toured nationally with “South Pacific” but now Frene Acoba hopes to sing her way into a scholarship.

Acoba, 10, of Kings Park, will sing in Friday’s production of “Got Talent? Long Island” competition, presented by the Huntington Arts Council. The winner walks away with a cash prize of $1,000 along with a $2,000 scholarship to Five Towns College, which is providing a venue for the show.

Acoba will compete against 19 others, including Commack’s Summer Penzi and Katie Zimmer.

The show begins at at 7:30 p.m. at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center at Five Towns College.
