Troopers stop speeding, drunk driver from St. James

Commack, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – New York State Troopers have arrested a St. James man for speeding and driving under the influence Monday along the Northern State Parkway.

Matthew O’Reilly, 46, was observed speeding eastbound in a brown Buick near the Sunken Meadow Parkway, state police say.
A trooper stopped the vehicle and while interviewing O’Reilly detected the odor of alcohol.  O’Reilly, who had a blood alcohol content level of .19%,  failed sobriety tests and was taken into custody.
O’Reilly was charged with driving while intoxicated and traffic violations.
He will be arraigned in Suffolk County First District Court on March 15.
