Update: First Precinct Crime Section officers along with Major Case Investigation Unit detectives arrested Christopher Legge, 39, for the bank robberies of the Roslyn Savings Bank located at 653 West Montauk Highway, West Babylon, on February 11, and 24. Legge, of  Lindenhurst, was charged with two counts of Robbery 3rd Degree, and Criminal Possession of Marijuana 5th Degree. He will be held overnight at the First Precinct, and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on March 2.

West Babylon, NY (SmithtownRadio.com0 – Suffolk County Police Major Case Investigations Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a Roslyn Savings Bank branch in West Babylon Friday morning.

A man entered the bank, located at 653 West Montauk Highway, at 10:14 a.m. and began shouting demands for money. The man approached several tellers who gave him cash from their drawers.

The suspect is described as a white male with blue eyes, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, a black ski mask, black pants and dark sneakers.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about the bank robbery is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
