Setauket, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk County Police Major Case Investigations Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday at a Capital One bank branch in Setauket.
A man entered the bank, located at 61 Route 25A, at 3:44 p.m. and showed a teller a note that demanded cash and indicated he was armed with a weapon, police say. The teller complied with the man’s demands and gave him cash. The man fled on foot east bound through rear businesses on Route 25A.
The man was described as white, in his mid 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a white wool cap with three dark squares on the left side of the cap, a turtleneck pulled up over his mouth, a black windbreaker with a hood over his head, dark sunglasses, black gloves, khaki pants and possibly sneakers.
