Morning Edition:
Bravo reality star Bethenny Frankel announced on the Today Show yesterday that she recently suffered a miscarriage. Frankel says she was pregnant for eight weeks before having the miscarriage. She said, “That was a very emotional experience for me. Until you become a woman, you don’t know the things that come with being a woman. The window is closing, and it’s something I’m dealing with.” Frankel, whose reality show premiered its third season last night, says she is grateful for her daughter and that her miscarriage made her think of other women who suffered through not being able to have any children at all. She said, “I can’t believe what people go through if they can’t even have the one. You go through a roller coaster of emotions about it.”
The Writers Guild of America Awards was held Sunday night and Midnight in Paris and The Descendants won the top movie awards. Midnight in Paris took home Best Original Screenplay while The Descendants won Best Adapted Screenplay. Oscar favorite The Artist was not eligible for a WGA Award because its writers are not members of the guild. Other winners include Breaking Bad for Best TV Drama Series, Modern Family for Best TV Comedy Series and Homeland for Best New Series.
Evening Edition:
Lindsay Lohan will be hosting Saturday Night Live. She’ll be returning on March 3, her first time back since 2006. Lindsay took to Twitter to announcer her exciting news saying “SNL! I love NBC!” NBC announced through their own Twitter account that Jack White will be the musical guest. Lohan has hosted the show three times, the first being way back in 2004 when she was only 17.
Peter Jacobson, who recently starred in House, has signed on to co-star in Showtime’s new drama pilot Ray Donovan. The potential series stars Liev Schreiber as a professional trouble-shooter who is regularly called on to solve the problems of L.A.’s elite. Jacobson will play Lee Drexler, a hard-driving, foul-mouthed wheeler-dealer who relies on Ray whenever his high-profile clients got into hot water. Other cast members include Jon Voight and Elliott Gould.
