Murder inspired Suffolk’s new chief of police department

The following was talked about on-air by James Brierton on Monday, February 20, 2012 at 12:45 p.m.

Now the Chief of the Department for the Suffolk County Police Department, James Burke got his inspiration for law enforcement while testifying as a witness in the 1979 murder of a Smithtown teen, Newsday reports. He’s now in charged of the county’s over 2,500 uniformed officers.
