Morning News Update

The Kings Park Civic Association is asking the Town of Smithtown to do something about two partially built and abandoned homes on West Main Street. The group fears the homes are a magnate for unwanted activity. Little has changed at the site since the site’s lawyer was sentenced to four years in federal prison last year. Smithtown Town Council Edward Wehrheim told Newsday officials want to bulldoze the homes but cannot without the permission of the lawyer.
And it may only be February but that’s not keeping gas prices from climbing towards four dollars. The highest in our area in a Hess in Smithtown at $3.85. A station in St. James comes in at the lowest at $3.73. SmithtownRadio.com/traffic has a look at area prices.
In your forecast today: any early showers give way to clouds and a high of 50. Clouds for tonight, down to 30.
