Crosstown hoops tonight

Smithtown East and West meet again tonight – - this time on the basketball court. Both games are at 5:45 with the boys playing at West. The girls at East. Hauppauge, Commack and Kings Park basketball also in action tonight.

It’s a sign of the times. Two Alaskan women became the first gay couple to marry at the Empire State building this morning. The pair was married with three other couples – - all of which won an online contest.

The town board is trying to decide whether or not to do away with the classification of a “discotheque,” according to Newsday. The outdated zoning term has not been popular since the 1970s. A decision will be reached at a future meeting.
