Morning Edition:
Demi Moore has checked into a Utah rehab facility. Demi checked into Cirque Lodge addiction treatment center in Sundance, Utah the week after her hospitalization, after she suffered seizure-like symptoms during a party at her home. Cirque Lodge has a reputation for treating celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Eva Mendes and Mary-Kate Olsen. E! Online reports that Moore is being treated for both an eating disorder and addiction issues. After she returned from the hospital, Moore gathered her belongings from her home and went straight to the facility for treatment.
Music industry veteran L.A. Reid has signed on for a second season of The X Factor. Reid, the chairman of Epic Records, reportedly signed the contract on Friday, just days after host Steve Jones and judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger announced they would not be returning. There is still no word on who will be taking their places.
Evening Edition:
Former Scrubs star Sarah Chalke, who played Dr. Elliot Reid, has landed the lead role in the ABC comedy pilot How to Live With Your Parents for the Rest of Your Life. She will play Polly, a recently divorced single mom who moves back in with her eccentric parents. Her new role comes just as Cougar Town wraps filming on its upcoming third season, where she recurs as a romantic interest for Bobby. She has also had prominent roles on Mad Love and How I Met Your Mother. Chalke’s new show is one of five comedy pilots in the mix for ABC’s development season.
Sanaa Lathan has nabbed a major role for the next season of Kelsey Grammer’s show Boss. Lathan is joining the second season of the Starz’ political drama as Mona, Alderman Ross’ formidable Chief of Staff with whom Grammer’s character, Tom Kane, becomes fixated on. Boss’ second season kicks off later this year.
