Police investigating several cases of students approached by strangers at bus stops
Lake Grove, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk police are investigating several cases of students being approached by strangers while at school bus stops.
Early Thursday morning police released a sketch of a man wanted for approaching a 14-year-old girl as she walked home from her Lake Grove bus stop in November.
From the passenger seat of the car the man yelled at the girl to get in, police say. The girl ran and hid behind a nearby home while the two unknown males circled the area in the vehicle in an attempt to locate her. The driver of the Toyota Camry is described as a white male, approximately 43 years old, 6’0”, 160 pounds. The passenger in the car , depicted in the sketch, is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male with black hair, approximately 37 years old, 5’8”, 180 pounds, with a Dominican language accent.
Two William T. Rogers Middle School students were approached by a man while they waited for their bus in San Remo last week, Kings Park Patch reports. The man is said to have left as the bus approached. The students made it safely to school, where they reported the incident.
Last month a girl was captured on home surveillance images running from a man who approached her in Elwood. The incident lead to the clearing of a field, where the man was said to have been hiding. The suspect is still wanted.
