Nesconset man arrested at home after bank robbery

Nesconset, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – A Nesconset man was arrested at home Thursday after allegedly robbing a bank.

At 8:41 a.m., Andreas Dambakakis, 30, entered the Nesconset branch of People’s United Bank, police say. He handed the teller a note that stated he had a gun and demanded cash be put into his black messenger bag.

Dambakakis, 30, of Kental Lane, was found at home approximately an hour later and taken into custody.

Major Case Investigations Unit detectives charged Dambakakis with Robbery 3rd Degree. Dambakakis will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip tomorrow.

Thanks for this James – it seems this guy dropped something in the drain outside our house and there many of Suffolk’s finest all over the place!  Thanksfully they got him and all ended safely.
