Overnight fire breaks out in the building that used to house Molly Bloom’s bar
Smithtown, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Flames were shooting out of the building that once housed Molly Bloom’s bar as fire firefighters from five area departments arrived at the Main Street storefront early Wednesday.
“Upon arrival units were confronted with a store fire in the old Molly Bloom’s bar now known as the Artful Dodger,” Smithtown Fire Department Public Information Officier Jeff Bressler says in a released statement. “Flames were emanating from the roof of the Artful Dodger and the adjacent hair salon.”
Firefighters brought in a ladder truck to attack the fire, which started around 2:30 a.m..
“The fire appeared to be electrical in nature and started above the front doors of the business,” Bressler says.
No injuries were reported.
The Nesconset, Hauppauge, St. James, Kings Park and Commack Fire Departments brought in equipment to assist fighting the blaze.
