Whether watching television or radio, I think we all often forget about the amount of work going into those broadcasts. Beyond the screen (or speaker) is a team of people who – like you – work in a real-world environment. It’s not some make believe television fantasy land.

And we were all reminded of that during Tuesday night’s edition of “NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams” when not once… not twice… but for most of the 30-minute broadcast the fire alarm was going off at 30 Rock.

Those folks living in the central time zone west never noticed a thing as the show was updated for those airings but that wasn’t before clips of the live, east coast broadcast hit YouTube.

MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” talked (and laughed) about the incident the following morning:
