Bay Shore, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the shooting death of a man that occurred last night on a Bay Shore street.

Brandon Sotomayor, 23, of Central Islip, was sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle that was stopped in front of 1060 Reilly Street at 11:55 p.m. when he was shot by an unknown person or persons, who then fled on foot, police say.

Sotomayor was pronounced dead at the scene by a member of the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. No one else was injured in the shooting.
