Jacksonsville, FL (SmithtownRadio.com) – A Florida woman is being fined for dying her dog’s fur pink.
The woman used “dog-friendly” dye to color her dog’s legs and tail pink for Halloween. But rather than candy, she was treated with a $255 fine.
The issue: it’s illegal in Jacksonville - and anywhere in the state of Florida – to artificially color an animal’s fur.
We’re not sure if that’s illegal in New York but we were able to find this:
No person shall sell… living baby chicks, ducklings… or baby rabbits which have been dyed, colored or otherwise treated so as to impart to them an artificial color.
Who knew?
Your Thoughts: Does the dying of an animal’s fur constitute animal cruelty?
