Nesconset, NY (SmithtownRadio.com) – Police are investigating a blaze at Nesconset Elementary School.
The Nesconset Fire Department, located adjacent to the school, received the call shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday night. Upon arrival, authorities found an active fire near the building’s detached extension (commonly referred to as “the portables”).
Suffolk County Police Department Arson Squad detectives are investigating the cause of the fire.
The Long Island Power Authority and the Smithtown Fire Marshal also responded. The Smithtown, St. James and Hauppauge Fire Departments assisted with the call.
Fire damage is not expected to effect activities at tomorrow’s day camp.
