Dear loyal listener,
We hope you’re enjoying your summer. The heat has certainly arrived but Matt Hammer in the Weather Center says we’ll drop back down to bearable temperatures this week. News most certainly welcomed.
Even before the heat arrived, things get real heated inside the Smithtown Schools Board of Education meeting Tuesday night as parents upset about new school bus rules wanted to make their voices heard. As news broke that the issue would go up for a community revote, all our friends in the media – us included – took to social media to break the news. However, only one news outlet had all the facts published and available to you before the night was over. Through a live blog – and a recap article after the meeting ended – we brought you all the information in a timely fashion. Something no other news outlet did.
All this while we brought you the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce summer concert series live on SmithtownRadio.com. In front of a packed out crowd at the Gazebo (and online), David Clark debuted his new band, “Songs in the Attic.” We hope you’ll join us again Tuesday night as we welcome back “That 70′s Band.”
So whether you’re looking for news – or just something to sing and dance too – we hope you find it in us here at SmithtownRadio.com. We appreciate being not only your summer soundtrack but also your home for breaking news.
Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your summer,
James Brierton
